Naval Academy Summer STEM
Thinking of a career as a coder, game developer, designer, or robotics engineer? Then start with a world-class program like the Naval Academy’s Summer STEM Program.
What’s the program?
STEM is all about exploring, creating, building, and making things better, and at the Summer STEM Program, you’ll do just that. You’ll work with students from all over the country as you test your problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration skills.
This highly selective, week-long program takes place in Annapolis, Maryland at the United States Naval Academy, ranked the #1 public college / university in the country. You’ll work with Naval Academy students and faculty on various STEM-related projects.
Who’s it for?
The Summer STEM program is for current 8th, 9th, and 10th graders with an interest in STEM-related subjects and careers. There’s no strict GPA requirement, but we’re looking for students with an interest in STEM, academic challenge, and a range of extracurricular activities.
You don’t have to be interested in joining the military or attending the Naval Academy to go to camp, but to be eligible for our scholarship, you’ll need to have an active-duty parent or guardian.
We’re looking to send a group of students from different services, backgrounds, locations, grades, and interests to Annapolis this summer!
Please consider applying if you’re interested.
How much does it cost?
The tuition for camp is $800, and we know travel can be quite expensive.
The Ready Room Project scholarship covers full tuition, incidentals, and travel expenses for applicants who need it.
We want to make sure this opportunity is available to military kids, despite the cost.
When is camp?
There are three options for camp in June 2023, depending on your grade level. Read all the details on the Naval Academy Summer STEM website to make sure it’s a fit for you.
